Practical Story at Tawau Hospital

Alhamdulillah...sudah hampir 2 bulan aku bercuti di Malaysia ni.

             Hari ni adalah hari terakhir aku berpraktikal di Hospital Tawau yg bermula 4 ogos lalu.
Secara keseluruhan aku sgt berpuas hati la dgn pengalaman dan pendedahan yg aku dapat spnjg berpraktikal di sini.

             Kali ini aku di tempatkan di bahagian Medical (perubatan am), di bawah jagaan Datuk S. Nagappan selaku specialist (pakar perubatan am).Secara tidak dirancang aku telah menjadikan  Male Medical Ward 2 sbg base utk bpraktikal . Di situ aku telah berkenalan dgn Houseman Ofiicer, HO 2 yg baik2 belaka. Dr. H , Dr. NurH, Dr. Hasnol, Dr. Shaiful, Dr. TY dan beberapa orang lagi. Mereka sgt peramah dan tidak lokek utk memberi tunjuk ajar.

              Secara rutinnya, start pukul 8 pg dgn morning round di ward pastu p ICU ,CCU, HDU smp pkol 11 pg. Pastu biasanya bantu HO amik darah dan teaching session ngan dorang. Dr. H byk memberi tunjuk ajar camna nak wat physical exam. Dr. TY byk terangkan ttg tugas sorang HO. Dr. NurH plak byk bg peluang amik darah pt. Aku join clinic cuma 2 kali  saja spnjg brpraktikal.

                Antara  kes-kes yg terdapat di bahagian Medical Hospital Tawau ni adalah ACS(acute coronary syndrome), Stroke, Dengue, Malaria, Hepatitis, Celullitis , Leptospirosis, AGE, pneumonia,poisoning dll. Ada satu kes,sorang mamat  cina try suicide dgn meminum chemical solution di sebabkan putus cinta..adooiinya.

                Hasil drpd praktikal ni aku dpt tingkatkan skill utk amik darah ,dpt pendedahan ttg suasana kerja sbg HO nnt, keyakinan aku juga bertambah utk terus menjadi sorang doktor. As a conclusion this is a fruitful experience for me to prepare myself to become a doctor next year..insyaAllah. I also want to thank everyone that had help me during my practical.

Going back home

Alhamdulillah.....

Tiga hari sahaja lagi sebelum aku akan balik ke Malaysia untuk summer break. Syukur juga officially aku da habiskan 5th year course dan bila semester baru bermula September nnt aku akan menjadi final year student kat Moscow State Medical Unversity (MSMU ) ni.

Perasaan bila nak balik Malaysia mmg sgt menyeronokkan , bila terbayang aku akan bertemu semula dgn keluarga, dapat menikmati makanan Msia, berjumpa kawan2, pergi bercuti, tak perlu mendengar dan menggunakan bahasa Russia ni.

Sebelum balik ,kenalah plan apa benda yg kena bawa balik sekali. Souvenirs kenalah beli, nnt boleh bagi kat family dan kawan2. Aku da beli souvenirs ni kat Partizan ngan mamat yg pandai cakap melayu ni.
Nak cerita mamat ni asal negara tan-tan tp x tau tan yg mana myb Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgystan ke...tp yg pasti bukan Pakistan la. Aku tanya dia dr mana dia belajar bahasa melayu. Dia jawab dia cuma belajar dari tourists dan customer yg dia jumpa. Respect la mamat ni, selain bahasa melayu, english dia pun mantap. Sbb tu peluang dia utk dpt customer lebih byk dari penjual souvenir Russia lain yg ada kat situ.

Selain souvenirs, kena pikir jgk benda2 lain yg kena bawa blk Msia skali. Antaranya electronic devices with the charges. All the documents and tickets have to be checked. Pakaian yg nak bawa balik pun kena plan. Disebabkan ini last summer break aku, jadi time ni la nak bawa semua barang yg x pki dan nak simpan kat Msia supaya bila grad tahun depan iAllah, xda byk sgt barang nak bawa blik.

Kat Msia plak nnt aku da ada beberapa plan yg nak buat. Jumpa kengkawan kat KL dan kat Tawau nnt. Bercuti bsama keluarga ke Semporna iAllah. Pastu , aku kena wat praktikal jgk kat Hospital Tawau. Alhamdulillah tahun ni sempat beraya ngan family selepas 5 tahun beb...mudah-mudahan panjang umurla iAllah. Nak join trip raya ngan kwan2 SMSLD ...yeah.

Rasa makin x sabar plak nak blik Msia bila tulis entry ni...haha

Alhamdulillah ...

Now I'm in exam mode, early this morning I already took final exam for surgery. There are 3 more papers that I have to take before  fly back home to Malaysia( yeah..).

Since I have my zachot book with me right now, I'm going to list down all the subjects that  I had studied from my 1st year until just now finishing 5th year course.

Fuhh....So, that was all the subjects that I had took so far. Even I myself a bit shocked by this list. I couldn't believe that I had endured 5 years learning all this stuff. You can see that there are few subjects that are repeated in the list, that is because some subjects usually covered 2 semesters. So, the one that repeated means that the subject start at the 2nd sem of the year and then finished by 1st sem of the next year.

There is only one year more for me before graduating as a medical degree holder. Time sure past very fast if you looking back 5 years from now. I pray to Allah that my journey to become a great doctor will come true , so that I can give my best service to the sick people.

Bila Nikmat itu dan ini di Tarik

Bismillah....

Kata orang "manusia jarang bersyukur dengan apa yang mereka ada sehinggalah nikmat itu ditarik dari diri mereka"

Memang begitula biasanya ragam manusia, benda yg biasanya dianggap tidak bererti boleh dengan tiba-tiba menjadi sesuatu yg boleh menyebabkan hidup terasa tidak seperti biasa apabila benda tersebut hilang atau ditarik dari diri mereka. Bila dah terjadi ,barula timbul penyesalan kerana tidak tahu menghargai benda tersebut sebelum ini.

Begitula juga yg aku rasakan dalam seminggu ini bila ada dua benda atau nikmat yang telah ditarik dari diriku.Ini yg aku perasan la, mugkn ada juga nikmat lain yg telah ditarik namun aku tak sedar lagi sebab ia tidak effect hidup ku seperti mana dua nikmat ini.

Nikmat yg pertama yg ditarik ialah air panas. Bekalan air panas kat hostel telah dihentikan atas tujuan maintenance atau baik pulih paip dia. Kalau ikutkan notis board , ia akan berlangsungan dari         11.5.11- 25.5.11. Disebabkan air panas xda, kami terpaksa menggunakan air sejuk utk buat rutin yg menggunakan air ni. Bayangkan terpaksa mandi menggunakan air yg sejuknya ibarat air yg baru  dikuarkan dari fridge , memang boleh  kena selsema lah lepas tu. Tapi Alhamdulillah walaupun notis mention sampai 25.5.11 tapi 20.5.11 bekalan air panas dah disambung semula.

Benda kedua yg ditarik pulak adalah CPU aku. Kalau ikut sejarah memang aku ni ada rekod buruk dengan benda2 electronic ni. sebelumni dah dua laptop tersadai kat rumah sebab motherboard dah KO. Iphone plak dah tak boleh connect wifi. 18.5.11 aritu balik dari kelas sempat la main komputer. Tapi tiba-tiba lepas 20 min black screen plak. Esoknya pegi kedai tempat aku beli komputer tu tahun lepas untuk dapatkan warranty service. dah penat2 bawak CPU tu jauh2, last2 dpt tau yg company tu da bankrupt . Maka terpaksalah hantar kat kedai lain utk repair dan hanguslah duit 4100 ruble utk hari tu.

Jadi pengajarannya , kita kenalah sentiasa bersyukur atas nikmat2 yg byk Allah telah kurniakn pada kita dan gunakanlah dengan sebaiknya. Ingat 5 perkara sebelum datangnya 5 perkara. Wallahualam...

Talking to Myself about study

Two hours of travel by metro wasted when the class was ended before it's even started...Oooh Dr. Natroshvili
at least shows us some slides ,even for only 10 minutes so that our effort to come to the class early in the morning in the crowded wagon don't go wasted.

I suppose for this surgery cycle , I can't rely too much on this Doctor to teach me. I'll have to study and do revision by myself. But, that is not going to be easy with the environment in my room . On my desk, this large monitor and high speed internet connection will always be a great distraction . For every 10 minutes I spent studying, at least 1 hour will be spent on internet later on.

Then, there is my bed. When I'm not at my desk , I'll be on the bed. I'll be laying on my bed when I  don't think that I can focus reading books at my desk. But, when I'm reading books on my bed that may be last only for 15- 30 minutes. Later ,my eyes will be automatically closed for my bed is very comfortable to resist from sleeping ,plus the book that I read acts as a storybook that help children to have a sound sleep at night.

Another distraction for me from studying is my iPhone. Doesn't matter at my desk or on my bed,  both I'll put my iPhone nearby. When the internet connection have problem, that is when this iPhone will take the role of the desktop as a distraction . On the bed, when I already played the games in the iPhone , there is very thin possibility for me to read the book that I plan to earlier.

But, come to think of it all this distractions that I mention above are actually only excuses that I made to be blame instead of myself for unable to focus on studying. If I'm really a good and disciplined student all that won't have had effect my study. If I'm being a honest and  a responsible student , I should know my priority and responsibilities as a student whose  been sent here by the money from Malaysian citizens to become a competent doctor .

I should always remind myself that at the Afterlife I will be asked about my responsibilities.
I pray that Allah will always guide me....insyaAllah.

Late in April

Assalamualaikum...Moga kita semua sentiasa dalam rahmat Allah SWT

'Time is a double edged sword"
-As useful it can be to you , it can also cut yourself if you handle it wrongly-

Today is the last day of April already , though I just feel that 1st April is  only like yesterday. That is what usually happened when your routines all the time are the same, I guess. Without you realizing it , a month already passed.


But, actually besides normal routines that I did this passed month, there are few interesting programs and events that took place that I'm involved in.

    1. 10th April : Aqsa Syarif Europe Tour

        - An event that took place in Hotel Turista's hall. The main objective of this program is to open the eyes  

          of every muslims about the real situation that occur in Palestine right now and how we can get involve   

          and give support to our fellow brothers and sisters over there. Lets pray for them, at least we can do 

          that, aren't we?

   2. 15- 17th April : Sechenov Intervarsity Games
       -An annual sport event for Malaysian students whose study at universities in Russia. Overall there are
         7 team, each represent their universities. 3 of which from universities in Moscow including my university
        (SMSU, RSMU, and MAI ). Others are from Volgo (VSMU), Nizhny (NMSU), Kursk (KSMU) and
        St. Petersburg university. This year it's our uni's turn to become the host, and we come out as the
        winner in overall medal tally with 7 golds and 6 silvers. By the way, I was chosen as substitute for
        our takraw team as the real players are injured . What can you expect from a team which never even
        once practiced before, of course we become the object of humiliation there.But, we play just to                enjoy..hehe.

 
   3. 20th April : Hitler's Birthday
       - Don't misunderstand. We are not celebrating Hitler's birthday. Even he had killed or rather did
         genocide on jews, that doesn't makes him a hero. What he had done to the jews still wrong
         sinful in Islam. In Russia, especially in Moscow there are certain group which hold the ideology of
         neo-nazism. They become active during Hitler's birthday. They will target foreigners or 'inostranets' ( in 
         russian) and attack them without any reasons. That is why our university gave us holidays from 19-21
         April and advised us to stay in hostel to prevent any unwanted incident from happening . Yes, it is
         indeed dangerous to study in Russia, but we can always take preventive measures.


That were the main events that took place in April. And now, the weather in Moscow is very good. Finally the true spring finally has arrive in Moscow after the long waiting. "Greenisation " process took place every where right now.  I'm feeling very grateful to Allah for showing me how the plants begin their new cycle of life. I can see right now everywhere, new buds coming out from the tree branches , from the flowers, from the grasses... Subhanallah, so beautiful  to see how it seem like they are just woke up from long sleep during autumn and winter and now ready to begin new life cycle. For sure it can be taken as a reminder  from Allah of akhirat to us. How we will some day , awaken after the death to be judged by Allah of our responsibilities and our actions during our life...So,that's it for now .

p/s ; i also now begin as a amateur barber ..haha, so far 2 victims had offer their hair to be experimented.

Early in April

Assalamualaikum....

Masa aku tengah tulis entry ni, kat luar tengah snowing dan semuanya kembali diselaputi lapisan putih salji itu.
Satu lagi tanda kekuasaan Allah SWT yg ditunjukkan dan menyentuh hati ini. Bukan apa, sebenarnya dah seminggu lebih cuaca menunjukkan yang musim bunga sudah bermula .Mentari sudah mula memancarkan sinarannya, sehinggakan suhu pun dah naik mencecah 13 *C , dan 2-3 hari ni yg turun membasahi bumi adalah titisan hujan bukannya empingan salji. Dan ketika kami sudah bergembira menyambut kedatangan musim bunga ,hari ini Allah SWT menunjukkan yang Dia Maha Berkuasa .Sebelum tidur semalam , apa yang aku lihat adalah jalan -jalan yg dibasahi air hujan ,dan pagi ini apabila aku menjengah ke luar tingkap yang kelihatan adalah lapisan putih yg memenuhi permukaan bumi,, pokok-pokok pun yg aku sangkakan akan mula  mengeluarkan pucuk mudanya kini kembali di bebani dgn lapisan putih itu, pemandangan yang tak ubah seperti 2-3 bulan lepas ,pemandangan yang hanya sepadan untuk dipanggil musim sejuk(winter). Sangat pelik bukan hanya bagi kami sebagai orang asing(foreigner) di Moscow ini, tapi pastinya pelik juga bagi orang Moscow sendiri kerana sememangnya tidak pernah lagi mereka menghadapi musim sejuk sebegini panjang

Alhamdulillah aku da habiskan satu lagi cycle untuk semester ini (cycle infectious dan Orthopedic). Dan sekarang baru bermula cycle Therapy. Cycle ni mmg sangat dinantikan oleh budak-budak 5th year, sbb merupakan cycle paling relax. Sehinggakan ada yg da merancang utk pegi bercuti time ni. Aku sendiri ada plan, tapi tengok dlula camna nnt.

Masa cycle infectious aritu, dpt tgok beberapa orang pesakit AIDS. Baru aku nampak gambaran yang sebenarnya tentang penyakit yg disebabkan oleh HIV infection ni. Kalau dlu sebut jak ttg pesakit AIDS , yg tergmbr dlm fikiran adalah org yg kurus kering , penagih dadah,dan byk bintik2 kat badan. Tapi skg aku da jelas yg tidak semua pesakit seperti itu. Aritu ada nmpk pesakit  perempuan dlm awal 30-an yg positive HIV ni. Kalo tengok dari luaran mmg x suspect langsung AIDS. Dia ni complaint selalu penat, byk allergic reeaction smp selalu tak cukup nafas ( SOB). Dia siap pegi wat medical examination kat clinic, tapi x jumpa reason dia. Cuma bila smp kat hospital infectious detected  darah dia positive HIV. Selain dia mmg ada pt lelaki yg kurus smp nmpk bentuk tulag pinggul ( pelvic bone).

Cycle infectious and ortho mmg sgt meletihkan. Kena berasak lg kat metro, tak cukup kat metro nak naik bas pun kena tolak menolak plak ngan makcik2 and nenek 2 russia ni..aduhh.
